Spoon has tested the current-generation K-Sports N-ONE on circuit, street and winding road. Despite high body rigidity and a solid feel on the street, testing found reduced steering response and some instability under braking on winding roads and circuit.
Reinforcing around the front subframe was found to transform handling, leading Spoon to develop this Stiff Plate along the same lines as the S660 and Civic FK-series versions. A conventional reinforcement bar only stiffens in one direction, and a car takes loads from every direction at once - covering that properly with bars alone means adding several of them, and with them, weight. The Stiff Plate instead reinforces multiple mounting points across a single panel, lifting torsional and bending rigidity for a much smaller weight penalty.
Its truss shape puts extra strength exactly where it's needed, lifting lateral load capacity by more than two tonnes over standard. It's made from 2.0mm JSC780 high-tensile steel with a genuine-equivalent cationic-treated surface, for a noticeably calmer, more settled feel through the wheel.
Please note: fits both CVT and manual cars; ground clearance is lowered by approximately 10mm once fitted. Spec was updated for shipments from May 2026 onward to also cover the N-ONE e: (JG5).
