Spoon Sports Lowering Springs - Prelude BF1
Purpose-built for the BF1 Prelude, Spoon Sports progressive lower springs adopt a barrel-shaped design. Unlike more conventional wound springs, barrel shaped springs provide multiple spring rates to the difference of spring diameter.
By taking advantage of the characteristics of this shape, its possible to achieve a suspension setup that uses a lower spring rate around the 1G load range - where ride comfort is most important - and a higher spring rate during high-speed cornering.
These spring rates were tested across various conditions, including winding roads and mini circuits, and were set at 4.5 kgf/mm for the front and 5.1 kgf/mm for the rear.
Paired with these carefully calibrated spring rates, a 20mm ride-height reduction balances increased stiffness with supple low-speed behaviour. The result is sharper turn-in and improved body control without compromising ride quality on imperfect surfaces. Equally at home on daily commutes or circuit work.
