- Description
This progressive spring improves the N-ONE RS's already agile handling while adding real high-speed stability. Spoon's suspension philosophy centres on maximising rebound stroke - how far the tyre can extend as the body rolls. Lowering ride height increases rebound stroke, which keeps the tyre in contact with the road at speed and through corners, but push it too far chasing rebound and bump-side stroke runs short, the damper bottoms out, and both handling and ride comfort suffer.
Spoon tested bump and rebound stroke on-track to find the optimum balance, landing on a ride-height drop of 25-30mm front and rear. Spring rate - the other factor governing cornering performance - was tuned on winding roads and mini-circuits so it wouldn't ruin ride comfort, settling at 3.6kgf/mm front and 2.7kgf/mm rear (against a stock 2.0kgf/mm front / 1.8kgf/mm rear). The result is a more stable, genuinely more fun N-ONE that doesn't give up its everyday comfort.
Please note: ride height drop: 25-30mm front and rear. Spring rate: 3.6kgf/mm front, 2.7kgf/mm rear. Road-legal (meets Japanese safety standards).
