Spoon Sports Front Stiff Plate, for Honda Civic FK7 / Type R FK8
A bolt-on rigid plate that joins the body, subframe and lower arm mounts, for more direct handling on the FK7 and FK8.
The 10th generation Civic has a stiff platform with an inner frame, but Spoon Sports found that raising the fastening strength between the body and subframe lifts handling further. The Front Stiff Plate joins the body, subframe and lower arm mounts into one rigid structure, so the car's own body rigidity and suspension work come through, with more direct and stable steering. Spoon says the ride does not turn harsh, because the suspension can move as intended.

Fitment
Fits the Honda Civic FK7 (2017-2021) and Civic Type R FK8 (2017-2021), model codes DBA-FK7, DBA-FK8, 6BA-FK7 and 6BA-FK8. Spoon notes that the Civic 1.5T sedan (FC1, Japanese spec) can use this kit if the genuine FK8 Type R brace bar (50290-TGN-E00) is fitted. Spoon publishes an installation manual for this part. Frequently asked questions
Does it make the ride harsher?
Spoon states that it does not. Raising body rigidity lets the suspension work as designed, which gives a supple, quality feel.
Does it need any modification?
No. It is a bolt-on part and the genuine under panel can still be fitted.
Does it fit the FK7 as well as the FK8?
Yes. Spoon lists both. For the FC1 sedan, Spoon says to use it with the genuine FK8 brace bar 50290-TGN-E00.
