- Description
The rear suspension of the FIT3 (GK5) is a torsion beam type, so there is no adjustment mechanism for toe as well as camber, and so when the car is lowered, the toe is significantly in the IN direction.
For FF (front-wheel drive) vehicles, if the rear toe is extremely in the IN direction, the rear grip force increases too much and the car tends to understeer, which means that the cornering performance is poor.
Therefore, SPOON conducted repeated tests to find the optimal toe and camber values according to the amount of lowering, and developed two types of plates: STREET version for lightly tuned vehicles that are 20 to 30 mm lower than STD, and RACE version for race vehicles that are 40 to 50 mm lower than STD, achieving smooth manoeuvrability and high cornering performance.
In addition, the plate is made of high-strength S50C, and the caliper support is thicker. The rigidity of the hub mounting surface, which is often overlooked in FF sports cars, has also been significantly improved, making ABS intervention during hard braking smoother and more accurate.
