SPOON has been developing the 10th Civic Hatchback 1.5L Turbo (FK7) since its initial release, and our primary goal was to pursue total tuning that would deliver driving performance surpassing the Type R (FK8).
In the process, we were most confident in the potential of the L15C 1.5 Turbo engine.
By introducing Hondata Flashpro and performing meticulous tuning, we were able to achieve a maximum output of 250ps (STD 182ps) and a maximum torque of 38kgf・m (STD 24.5kgf・m). However, the obstacle to achieving this approximately 50% increase in torque compared to the STD was the torque capacity of the STD clutch.
Therefore, SPOON developed a clutch disc and cover using high-strength fiber material to achieve the high heat resistance and high strength required in motorsport.
The dual-mass structure used in the genuine flywheel is retained, and the clutch pedal effort is kept to approximately 10% higher than the standard model, making it ideal for street use where operability is a priority.
