SPOON has been testing the Civic at every stage in pursuit of even higher performance while taking advantage of its high overall balance. However, the biggest challenge in time attack on the circuit was the increased brake load due to the vehicle weight of over 1300kg.
The size of the genuine brake disc of the FK7 HATCHBACK/FC1 SEDAN is Φ282 and 23mm thick, but the temperature of the brake disc during sports driving exceeds 500℃, which is the same as that in races. Therefore, SPOON has newly developed a 6POT monocoque caliper and dedicated brake disc for the FK7/FC1, which have been tested and developed in the Super Endurance Series since 2016.
By adopting a Φ312 25mm thick reverse ventilated disc, the brake temperature rise and heat collapse during sports driving are greatly suppressed. Judder resistance has also been significantly improved, achieving a stable brake feel even during continuous laps.
