- Description
Spoon Sports Progressive Lowering Springs, for Honda N-ONE JG3
The Spoon Sports Progressive Spring, part number 51400-JG3-001, is a road-legal lowering spring set for the N-ONE JG3 that sharpens the car's agile handling and adds real high-speed stability.
Spoon's suspension philosophy centres on maximising rebound stroke, which is how far the tyre can extend as the body rolls. Lowering the ride height increases rebound stroke and keeps the tyre in contact with the road at speed and through corners, but push it too far and bump-side stroke runs short, the damper bottoms out and both handling and comfort suffer. Spoon tested bump and rebound stroke on track to find the balance, landing on a 25 to 30mm drop at the front and rear.
Spring rate was tuned on winding roads and mini circuits so it would not ruin ride comfort, settling at 3.6kgf/mm front and 2.7kgf/mm rear against a standard 2.0 front and 1.8 rear. The result is a more stable, more fun N-ONE that keeps its everyday comfort.
