Opposed calipers have advantages such as lower drag torque and no uneven wear of the pads because the main body rigidity can be set higher than that of stamped calipers. Monocoque calipers are monoblock structured and made using precision die casting. They can be installed with just a bolt-on without any processing, and can be used with front and rear brake distribution and ABS.
Opposing calipers, which have pistons on the outside, are wider than standard calipers, so they may interfere with the wheels depending on the whats installed. With factory fitted Honda wheels, a 15mm spacer is required. Please check with the shop where you will be installing the calipers to see if they can be installed on the wheels you are using.
