Every so often, a car arrives in our showroom that makes us pause, knowing we may never encounter another quite like it. Recently, that moment came with a Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R V Spec II Nür finished in Millennium Jade, one of the rarest and most desirable R34s ever built.
Painted in the legendary Millennium Jade (JW0), this Nür represents the pinnacle of Nissan’s engineering and design during the golden era of Japanese performance cars. Only 156 cars were produced in this colour, making it one of the most collectible R34 GT-Rs in existence. Seeing one so close to factory specification is truly special.
The Story of the Nür
To understand the importance of this model, it helps to look back at the RB26DETT engine’s evolution. The famous straight six first appeared in the R32 GT-R, before being refined through the R33 and ultimately perfected in the R34. By the early 2000s Nissan was preparing to end R34 production, but not before creating the Nür edition, named after the Nürburgring to highlight its motorsport pedigree.
The Nür was equipped with the motorsport grade RB26 N1 engine. This meant a reinforced block, upgraded pistons, conrods, crankshaft and turbos designed for competition use. Nür models also featured a 300 km/h speedometer, gold valve covers in place of the traditional red, and subtle interior upgrades.
The V Spec II added further performance touches such as larger brakes, a carbon fibre bonnet with NACA duct, stiffer suspension and an active rear differential. Out of the 1,003 Nür models produced, 718 were V Spec II versions like this example, making it an incredibly rare car even before factoring in its Millennium Jade paintwork.
Originality with Subtle Enhancements
This car stands out not just for its rarity but for its purity. So many R34 GT-Rs have been heavily modified, yet this one remains strikingly close to its original specification. At the same time, it benefits from a number of subtle performance enhancements from respected Japanese brands.
The exterior features genuine NISMO GT tail lamps along with carbon fibre components including the bonnet and rear diffuser. Under the skin it carries HKS coilovers, a Trust titanium exhaust system and a Mine’s ECU, while the interior retains its genuine factory steering wheel and seats.
Condition and Service
Graded at 4.5 on import, this V Spec II Nür has clearly been cherished throughout its life. With just under 62,000 miles covered it remains in superb condition.Upon arrival it was treated to a full service in our Torque GT workshop which included fresh engine oil and filter, a new timing belt kit, water pump and coolant change. This ensures it is not only a rare collectible but also mechanically ready for the road.
The Magic of Millennium Jade
Ask any GT-R enthusiast about the most iconic R34 colour and Millennium Jade will always come up in conversation. In direct sunlight the metallic shade shifts from subtle olive to shimmering gold, giving the car an aura that few other finishes can match.
With just 156 cars worldwide painted in Millennium Jade, these Nür editions are considered the ultimate prize for collectors. Their value and desirability continue to climb, cementing their reputation as blue chip investments in the world of JDM classics.
Conclusion
The Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R V Spec II Nür in Millennium Jade is more than just a car. It represents the final evolution of the legendary RB26 and the very best of Nissan’s GT-R bloodline. With production numbers so limited and demand at an all time high, it is no exaggeration to call this one of the rarest and most sought after Skylines ever built.
Although this cherished example has now found a new home, we are fortunate to still have another Nür safely tucked away in our private collection here at Torque GT in Devon. For enthusiasts in the UK searching for the ultimate JDM import, the Millennium Jade V Spec II Nür stands as one of the greatest icons ever to leave Japan.
