- Description
As a countermeasure against heat cracks that could not be avoided by drilling additional holes in conventional mass-produced products, Spoon participated in the design and created a flap-type casting mold. The realities of parallelism and perpendicularity were reflected in the product while obtaining ideal strength. The material also averaged the ideal carbon content, narrowing the range of specific gravity values, and the individual differences between rotors were also at a constant level.
By precisely arranging the casting core at the hole position, groundbreaking strength and cooling performance were obtained. During hard braking, the rotor cools when it enters the caliper (intervention side), and has a high temperature distribution when it leaves (intervention side). If this is repeated, the "distortion" that occurs on the rotor surface is transmitted to the hub and causes "vibration." In addition, the flare pushes the pads apart, making the brake feel spongy. In Spoon, in addition to these hard braking countermeasures, we aimed to achieve a rich ride even when driving normally by improving the rotation balance and overall strength far more than normal.
