Launched in 1998 and produced for only a year, the Lancer Evo V took the motorsport mantle, at least in terms of the WRC. A new ruling allowing a bigger body gave Mitsubishi the opportunity to extend the IV’s platform increasing brake and wheel size, adding 10mm to its track, and more.

This was the first time we saw flared arches and much more aggressive styling compared to previous Evos, taking it further from the base model Lancer and acting as a precursor to the later Evo VI, which was incredibly successful.

Evo Vs are increasingly hard to find. This Pyrenees Black Pearl example is one of just 668 produced a rare find!

Imported from Japan in 2019, this Evo V GSR arrived in outstanding condition, showing absolutely no signs of corrosion. To ensure it was properly preserved for life on UK roads, the underside was professionally stripped, painted, and treated with fresh bushings and re-plated bolts. The car also received a full respray on arrival, finished to an exceptional standard, to top it off it was ceramic coated by Torque GT in August 2023.

Powered by the legendary 2.0-litre 4G63 turbocharged engine and mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox, this Evo delivers proper old-school rally-bred performance. The engine has been looked over and mapped by Norris Designs, producing a healthy 350bhp, completed with a Fujitsubo exhaust system.

From the outside, the factory rear spoiler has been colour-coded to match the body, giving a more cohesive look. The stance has been subtly enhanced thanks to a lowered suspension setup and spacers, adding to the car’s already aggressive presence. Inside, the car features a retrimmed Alcantara steering wheel for a more tactile driving experience, along with genuine Ralliart touches including a gear knob and floor mats that tie in nicely with the Evo’s motorsport roots.

This Evo has covered 72,960 miles and comes with its original service book and owner’s manual from its life in Japan. With only 668 Evo Vs' produced in Pyrenees Black Pearl, this is a rare example of one of Mitsubishi’s most iconic models... perfect for any collector or enthusiast looking for a standout car with real pedigree.

The coolest honda box

It has everything you need

The boss kit gets 5 stars purely for coming with a torx key and a little leverage bar for it, top tier thinking that. Boss was quite delayed however I was immediately informed of this and continuously updated until it was delivered so it was no issue for me.
