Spoon entered the Tsukuba 9 Hours Endurance Race with the S, which was released in 1999, and won second place overall in the first race. Ichishima first drew up a few design drawings and commissioned MC to manufacture a prototype model, which was then honed at the race site. We wanted to make it stylish and aerodynamically refined, even if it meant trading it for an open-top. By adopting the coupe design, we were able to reduce the number of pit stops by two during the 24-hour race, and we were able to see the unexpected benefits of low fuel consumption, as well as the low drag effect. We hope that true S fans will adopt and install this product.

Package arrived promptly and the new B pipe was well protected in bubble wrap inside the factory spoon packaging. The first thing i noticed was the quality of the welds, then the serialised Spoon plaque, and the genuine honda gasket and spring bolt kit which is included. Fitment was straight forward with the right tools, and the spoon piece aligned perfectly with the standard cat and Spoon N1 backbox. The noise i would describe as OEM++. No drone at motorway speeds but in the vtec band it has that raspy race note. Perfect for around town but still fun in the higher rev range when you want to hear your Honda scream.

I rate it 5/5 and would recommend as a replacement for those sadly corroding factory B pipes.

Spoon brake calipers for my EK9

Always wanted to do this modification and now I got the chance as I got some discount. Fitted the new spoon calipers with my friend. Not a direct fit as it says. You have to cut the back plate. Plus if you have standard brake lines. You have to bolt the caliper first then the brake line. If you have standard brake pads. The back one has to have the lugs shaved down. If you have the tools it's easy enough. Took around 3-4hours to fit and bleed. What a transformation though to the feel of the braking. I would recommend these to anyone thinking about it. But take note you will need something to cut and shave metal.
