Mugen Group B parts for the FL5 Civic Type R were developed under the "Extreme R" concept, with the goal of improving performance on the track. Through thorough design analysis, meticulous material selection, and uncompromising quality evaluation and improvement, the entire group of parts has achieved a weight reduction of approximately 38 kg and an increase in downforce approximately three times greater than the standard vehicle. Completed development parts will be released sequentially.
A carbon fibre rear bumper diffuser with a large diffuser shape is installed. The optimal shape, based on aerodynamic analysis, regulates airflow from the underside of the vehicle and increases downforce. Furthermore, an opening at the top of the diffuser releases trapped air inside the rear bumper rearward, simultaneously reducing air resistance.
