The Hawkeye generation WRX STi remains as popular as ever, and for good reason. As a semi-classic performance car it ticks just about every box: fast, practical, steeped in rally heritage and genuinely engaging to drive. Point one at your favourite B road and regardless of the conditions, it covers ground in the most joyous manner.

The JDM-specific variants take things a step further. Built around the EJ20 twin-scroll engine, these cars came with a quicker steering rack than their UK counterparts, DCCD centre differential control and a six-speed manual gearbox with some of the shortest and most satisfying shifts of any car from this era. The Hawkeye is defined by its distinctive headlights, aggressive spread-wings grille and that iconic large rear wing. It's a car that still turns heads and attracts true JDM fans.

With fewer decent examples coming through Japanese auctions, well-maintained JDM Hawkeye STis are becoming genuinely hard to find. This 2005 Impreza WRX STi Widetrack in WR Blue is a rare opportunity to get into a properly looked-after import that arrived from Japan in strong condition to begin with.

Imported in 2021 as a high-grade 4B auction example, the previous owner maintained it meticulously throughout their ownership. Cambelt replacement, a full service including differential and gearbox oils and annual oil changes have all been carried out by Thwaites Development Racing. The car has been dynoed at 324bhp.
