Often overlooked the R33 offers the full JDM experience and at nicer price tag in comparison to the R34. While power output remained unchanged, improved aerodynamics and chassis development saw the R33 accelerate more quickly than the R32 and deliver a higher top speed. Beneath the surface, a significantly stiffer body, larger Brembo brakes, wider wheels, and an improved four wheel drive system transformed the car’s cornering ability and stability.

From launch, Nissan also offered the V Spec, featuring uprated suspension and an active limited slip differential. The result was exceptional grip, balance, and composure, particularly at higher speeds, cementing the R33 GT R V Spec as a serious driver’s car rather than a simple evolution.
