Time Attack Round 1 - Class Win and Lap Record

Time Attack Round 1 - Class Win and Lap Record

Morgan Gibson |

The first round of Time Attack took Dan to Cadwell Park, a twisty and undulating circuit that demands precision and driver skill. A fast lap here requires smooth cornering and leaves no room for error.
Dan got off to a cracking start, finishing on top in the Clubman class. Attack 1 saw him pushing hard, clocking lap times already quicker than the previous year. A sudden brake failure caused by a burst brake line gave him a scare, but Dan kept his cool and coasted back to the pits. In true paddock spirit, a replacement was sourced and fitted in time for the next session.
With confidence slightly knocked, Attack 2 began. Despite the earlier issue, Dan delivered another strong 1:39.32 lap, proving his consistency and skill.

''after a good outlap and a cautious lap next, I needn’t worry, I had good brake pressure and of course, Dixcel RE pads never failed - they still performed after numerous heavy stops''

''I was able to match my best of today with a 1:39:22 with still some time left in there, especially under brakes''

A red flag paused the action, and once racing resumed, a loss of rear tyre temperature caught him out, spinning at 120mph. Thankfully, no damage was done, and he was able to continue into the final round.
In a final bid for a class lap record, everything was on the line in the Super Attack session. With a few clear laps, it was time to push the FK8 and those trusted Dixcel RE pads to the limit. Dan pieced together a strong run and finished with a 1:38.60 - fastest in his class and a new lap record, securing maximum points for the day!

With a promising first round we're excited to see what Dan has in store for the next round at Donington...
